A MOMENT CAPTURED...

A MOMENT CAPTURED...

Finally we have finished the requirement of Social Engagement to do social activities for 32 hours.!!! .. When I know that this course must be done for at least for 32 hours, I felt like 32 days and it will took forever to finish. But it all changed when we first went to Lovely Disabled Home. This Lovely Disabled Home have their own recycling center. Actually on the first day we went to the recycling center of Lovely Disabled Home. I was shocked to see that the whole place was full of all the recycling items. It was my first time to a recycling center. The first day was quite unexpected. We all were exhausted after sorting all the recycling stuffs. But the next time I felt excited doing the sorting while we get the know all the little angles there. The disabled children are called as little angles. There are certainly little angles although they have disabilities but they work as the others that covers up their disabilities. I had fun working with all of them. There are very joyful and do their work very happily.

On Sunday, we went to residential areas to collect recycling items with the guidance of the volunteers who are doing this for a longs time. It's a new experience for me go to every house ring the bell and ask for the recycling item. It's fun collecting the recycling stuff from the residents. As finished, we had a short sharing session with the volunteers where there share about their experience doing this recycling and the basics of recycling as well as the importance to the environment. since then I learned how important recycling is especially to the environment. A message that I learned, that before we want to buy something we must think how it's necessary to buy. From this, we can avoid buying things that is not a need to us as it will be thrown in trash. Not all the things we buy can be recycled. So, think wisely before buying as it could protect our environment.

A moment captured with the volunteers of Lovely Disable Home

First I taught 32 hours is a very long period but it all went just in a blink of eye and its already our last day with at the Lovely Disabled Home. We each prepared a farewell card as well as gifts to every little angles. I gave it to Cecelia.:) All of them are very happy with cards we gave them. Our social engagement course ended here with a lot of memorable moments and new experiences..:)
