Be Grateful :)

I am glad that I have a precious chance to meet with them ;)
I used to talk to the 7 angels
in order to understand more about their life

I chose to not use any difficult word during the conversation
and trying to understand what they were talking to me
One of them, name Ah Lun
dada this guy

He used to speak cantonese to me
and I am also trying my best to talk to him by using Cantonese

I am not a Cantonese people instaed a Hokkien people
I live in Johor, the place which we seldom use dialect language also
Neither Cantonese, Hokkien or Hakka
my family used fully Chinese so
you can called me a Banana also  XD which don't understand dialect

When i am trying so hard to speak Cantonese to Ah Lun
My friends whose they knew Cantonese also used to laugh at me
Especially Jolie, WengYee, Yintheng and Chiyan T.T
Even one of them told me that
I am like a Indonesian who is trying to speak Cantonese
Okey, I knew that I have a weird slange /.\

dada

This is the photo of the uncle and me
uncle always praised me that
I am PRETTY HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I am not lying ok
he praised me that my spectacles is very pretty'
OK, AT LEAST IT IS A PRAISE FOR ME

This is the photo taken when we were in SS2
They are a group of permanent volunteers
who used to collect the recycle-able items
from the residential area in SS2
every third Sunday of the month

They have been joining to be a volunteer at least 2 years ago
I have had a chance to ask Joe
The lady who are in pink t-shirt in the photo

ME: 'Joe, why are u decided to join the Lovely Disabled House, as a volunteer?'

JOE: 'Erm, I just think that it is the time for me to do something for the society,
and helping the NGO at the same time.'

ME:' oh really? How do you get to knew this Lovely Disabled House?'

JOE:' I get to knew this Lovely Disabled House through a YB. He told me that this Lovely Disabled house is a NGO which established to give a chance for those who are disabled to work like a normal person. It is a good platform for them to live a normal life just like all of us...'

This lady really get my respect
I was impressed and appreciate
Her effort of willing to help those disabled
they have made their work burden lesser

It is because
some of the elites in the House are not good in communicate with others
They might faced many challenges during the collections from the public
Hence, these permanent volunteers has lend their hands

Thank you, you all are my idols!

I had drew a appreciation card to one of the elites
which are,
Ming Hua

The reason why i choose to give Ming Hua is that
Ming Hua is very helpful
every time when i faced problems like
i couldn't find a sack to put the old clothes
or
when i was confused which types of paper it should be catagorized
i will always refer to Ming Hua
although Ming Hua can not answer my questions verbally
but he understood what i meant ;)

Appreciation Card for Ming Hua

Ming Hua with his smiling face ;) and me

We also bought some snacks for them
like 100 plus, apolo layered cake and chocolate biscuit
as we knew that they have least chance to have snack
during the tea time “)

dada

I was glad that I have had a chance to do some charity works
not only for the society and the earth but also for my own's good.

I understood that although the life is hard,
but we still need to move on
there is senseless for me as a healthy person
to complain about why my life is so hard
and decided to give up moving forward

There is people who live in a harder life
but still
with a smiling face

' This is still not the end of the world'

'Crying isn't solving any problem'

Wipe off the tears on your face
standing up from the bottom of the valley
cleaning clear the wounds and scars
patting your shoulder and said

'it's okey'

and don't forget to
smile :)

There is always still a hope :)

Not just a volunteering job, it is beyond your expectation ;)

Today i m going to share with all of you
about what i had experienced in these 32 hours.

Basically we are doing the categorization of the treasures
that we have collected from the residential area
most of the time
which is inside this double-storey house
dadada....

There are total 7 elites and 2 uncles and 1 auntie worked major in this recycle center.

Auntie LiHua mostly responsible for the categorization of the old clothes
She will category the clothes into wanted and unwanted
which further category them into:
lady clothes, male clothes, and kids clothes

The 'wanted' clothes will then be bring to amcorp mall on sunday
to be sell as 2nd hand clothes.
The money earned will be used as the funds for the center.

So, please do a visit to the amcorp mall when you are free
you can find many of the good-condition and pretty clothes
It is sad that people nowadays has wasted many money to buy new clothes
and throw it when it is 'outdated'
although the clothes has only be wear a few times only

A lot of people came over amcorp mall to find the 'treasure'
helping the center and at the same time helping the earth :)

We do categorization of the papers collected also
into three types, which are:
mixed paper,
black-and-white paper,
magazine-like paper,
cardboard
and
old newspapers

black-and-white paper is the most common
which are normal A4 paper without any colour printed on

magazine-like paper is the types of paper which are very smooth and 'slippery surface'
the cover of the book is also considered to be magazine paper

cardboard and old news paper are very common
i don't think i need to explain it haha
lets move on

mixed paper is the paper which are not categorized as
black-and-white paper, magazine-like paper, cardboard and old newspaper

We also used to helping the center to go around the residential area
knocking the door, ringing the door bell
pretending to be not fear of the dog
in order to collect the recycle-able items

under the hot sun
with the help of permanent volunteer
hoping that we will managed to collect the items as much as possible

Faithfully, it isn't a easy job!
My respect to the permanent volunteer
When i finished one day voluntery work
i felt that my leg isn't mine already :(
hahaha

PROOF!
total of 10540 steps and 6.52 km in A day!
it is really exhausted hahaha
but i was enjoying
btw, it is also a great way to keep fit XD

Luckily the residents all are very kind and responsive
I even received a gift from one of the residents
thank you :)

The Most Beautiful Moment

Hi,I'm Ho Weng Yee from the group 9G1B.

Well, actually I didn't have any experience on how to interact with these disabled children.I've thought before that how's the life of  these children be?Most of them are mentally disabled and how are they going to interact and communicate with the society? Will it be very difficult? Will they be hurt by other people in this society?

Now,I've got the answer.

Although they are not perfect in the sense of their physical or mental, they are just perfect to be themselves.Maybe, you'll feel that they are very naive people, but they live the way they are. They just express out what they feel in their own way.Perhaps, this is how life should be.

During the interaction time,we played games, joked around, had fun together and through these,I found that they are just as simple as kids.We need to talk to them like the way we talk to kids,we need to play simple games that we usually play during our childhood with them. This reminds me of my childhood, such a wonderful and precious time and time flies,I've already THAT OLD,LOL!!!!!

This is Ah Xiong, one of the children in Lovely Disabled Home.He is a quiet person. He didn't talk much.He reminds me of my quiet characteristic during my childhood time. That's why I like him a lot, haha!

I'm glad that I've got a chance to approach these special little angels. They've taught me a lot,on how we shuold live for our life.JUST BE HAPPY,always...

Little Angels,I thank you all.

Last Day...

It is the last day...
Time files...
We had completed 32 hours...
The moment we spent with them is so precious
Memorable

They are so friendly and kind
They have simple mind just like a kid
Chatting with them
I feel relax
There is no need to conceal...
In them
I feel that life is actually simple
But we insist on making it complicated

I wish I could think as pure as a kid...
Live without stress
Without worries and fear
BUT in reality
I know I can't
Growth erase my innocent
It force me to become complicated...

It is the last day...
I made a card for Ah-Lun
A "guy" who always called me "ah-moi"
I would like to say
Thanks for being so nice to me
Thanks for chatting with me
Thank you, my BIG BROTHER!

A funny video of Ah-Lun and me

=======================================================
Doing recycling work is not something new to me
I started in my first semester
It's a hostel weekly activity
Collect recyclable materials from hostel resident
Categorize it and place it at recycle centre in hostel

However
It is a new experience at Lovely Disabled Home
I didn't categorize the recyclable materials in detail before this
At here
I know paper can be categorized into many types
I know where clothes in the second-hand clothes shop comes from
I know where the newspaper that used to wrap vegetables in Cameron Highlands comes from
I know
There is a lot of things that we can do for recycling

Happy Angels

Here come to the last day be in Lovely Disabled Home.

Today is the day we all become very talkative
Forget about the tiredness, we chit chat non stop.
The volunteers are as usual, never stop chatting with us.
The last day always make people recall about the past.
Their voices of singing, the gaming session, the laugh sound, cute and innocence action.
Everything want to keep in mind as memory.

A memorable picture

Today we held a small appreciation session for them.
We done a card to each of them.
We also prepare some drinks and food for them as an appreciation.

Appreciation card

Yummy foods and drinks.

This person called Li hua Jie. The first time I saw her , I never think that she is so humerous. She likes to chit chat with us and sometimes even crack jokes with us. She has a very beautiful and nice heart. She treats those kids very patiently and whole hearted. I never saw her angry from the beginning of time.(ps: LI HUA JIE where are you looking at)

Hope to have more chances and time to involve in recycling and pay a visit to Lovely Disabled Home in the future. We should always remind ourselves to be alert with environmental protection and implement the 3R's in our daily life.

Treasure Hunting

The first time I stepped into this double-storey house.
First impression is recycle and non recycle things filled up almost the whole area.
With the hot and humid weather, I thought the day we have to gone through is a disaster.

However, I started to feel interested when mixing with the volunteers and kids.
They taught us how to sort out the old newspaper, books, magazine, colour paper and black and white documents. It is same goes with those old clothes and pants. They also taught us how to pack and unpack the recycle things even clean up the things can be reused.

During the time of categorization, I think it was the most interesting time.
It was like treasure hunting.
You never know what you will get the next seconds.
We may find out clothes that is quite brand new, maybe just wore it for a fews times only.
Branded sweater, blazer, sportwear so on and so forth.

ADIDAS SPORTWEAR !!!

Many old toys are also found here.
Plenty of cute, big, small, weird toys.

Previously , I guess is was an animal.

However, it doesn't look like an animal!

It was actually indicate an ancient person in  the past time with no clothes and pants

Sometimes, we may find out some talented designer..

It is a pants right!

 But now it isn't anymore!!

It transforms to become a crop top.
More surprise are awaiting us in the every single seconds.
This treasure hunting process not only involve non creature but also human.
During the time be with the volunteers and kids, we chat a lot. We may find out that the kids' mind may not grow with their ages, but they are intelligent and smart enough but with some childishness.
They taught us whole- hearted and always shows sincerity to any people. I think this is the most treasure experience in this treasure hunting process. We should learn from them.

Life Was Tough, But Theirs...Way Tougher.

I dunno where to start...but for a past few weeks finishing our Social Engagement project, was really a new experience for me. To be frank, 32 hours volunteering at a recycle center with a gifted community totally wear me out, physically and mentally. Imagine, being an only guy in our group, plus my introvert and lazy trait, have to get to the recycling center short after finishing a class, doing the same thing over and over, is not an easy job. And only god knows the hardship of recycling, even paper is classified into three groups. Even imagining about it is tiring, but...32 hours past in a jiffy, and I gained a few things when spending time with my group and with Lovely Disable Home community.

Interaction is a really hard thing for me, as I'm lacking of social skill. Speaking with Lovely Disabled Home members is limited because only a few of them capable speaking national language or English. But there is this guy, Ah Lun, every time I saw him, he always had a word for me, even though I don't understand a single word and had to be translated by my friends...I admire his efforts try to engage conversation between us. And there is one friendly grandpa, capable of speaking Malay and often make a joke. These guys taught me that conversation isn't always in form of speaking, and I'm still in a long way polishing my social skill.

I  respect their dedication of them doing their job, repeatedly classifying those what we called "garbage" without a single sigh or whine. And they are happy doing their job, smiling all the way. For normal people it would an outstanding boring routine, but I guess a boring routine can't beat the bond formed between them. As the 32 hours past, we're back with our own daily routine. To be honest, I'm quite disappointed, because I did  not have the chance to give my card during our last session. But overall,  I had learned a lot through this project and I am grateful toward my understanding group for picking me up as member of 9G1B and special thanks to the Lovely Disabled Home for the experiences and memories.
